It’s April, dance month, and at the Cuban Contemporary Dance headquarters no time is wasted. Dancers rehearse for the next season of the company directed by Miguel Iglesias. In the saloon, before the cast, a teacher with proven credentials: Yoerlis Brunet. Conducting a trial is a demanding task, you have to be aware of all the details. But there’s the guarantee of the success of the shows.
From Friday, April 26, the group will offer a season in the Avellaneda room of the National Theater of Cuba with recent works from its active repertoire: The Tribulation of Anaximandro (Hombre, Arché, Ápeiron), with a choreography concept by George Céspedes, and Hands On, a creation of the Greek Yannis Mantsis.
Performances will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday the 26 and Saturday the 27, and at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday 28. The season is part of the celebrations for the 65 anniversary of Contemporary Dance of Cuba, which will be celebrated next September.
