Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, extended today to Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of Equatorial Guinea, greetings from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country.

Cuban Government informed on X that, as part of Marrero Cruz's current official visit to that Central African nation, in a warm meeting at the Presidential Palace in Malabo, the Cuban head of government expressed his gratitude for the exchange in order to strengthen the ties between the two countries, forged for more than five decades.

The Equatoguinean president highlighted the importance Cuba attaches to the African continent, as well as the work of the Caribbean nation's medical and educational brigades in the region
.
Marrero Cruz participated today in the signing of two cooperation agreements, with the aim of diversifying cooperation and economic and trade relations for mutual benefit, and then held official talks with his counterpart in Equatorial Guinea, Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua.

Bilateral relations between Cuba and Equatorial Guinea were established on December 27, 1972.
