Entire armies trembled centuries ago at the sight of this Berber cavalry. They appeared out of nowhere, yelling war cries, firing their rifles, advancing relentlessly. There were hundreds of riders, but they seemed like a single creature. Almost always they managed to demoralize the adversary before such a display of courage.

Before it was a war action, but now it’s a great show. It is known as the Tbourida and is one of the most popular attractions for cultural festivals, popular festivals and weddings in Morocco.

Halfway between equestrian sport and artistic exhibition, the Tbourida is an opportunity for young riders to show off their skills.

There are no more troops fleeing in terror before this incursion, now the public can enjoy the evolutions from the comfort of their boxes, as if it were a great ballet.
