Sir Paul McCartney, fresh off a historic performance on December 19, 2024, at London’s O2 Arena where fellow Beatles legend Ringo Starr joined him on stage, announced Thursday that he is heading back on tour across the United States. Rumors are already circulating about potential additional dates in Europe and South America.
After weeks of speculation and silence on social media regarding possible new concerts, the iconic Beatle officially confirmed a new U.S. leg of his Got Back Tour. The announcement follows the tour’s hugely successful run through South America last year, which included sold-out dates in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, and Peru.
According to McCartney’s official website, the upcoming leg will feature 19 shows across the United States and Canada. The tour kicks off on September 29 in Palm Desert, California, and includes stops in Las Vegas, Denver, Minneapolis, Atlanta (with two shows), Nashville, and Montreal, wrapping up with two nights in Chicago on November 24 and 25.
Additional dates have not been ruled out.
Ticket presales will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET, with registration required for access. General public sales open on July 18 at the same time.
McCartney, now 83, first launched the Got Back Tour in Spokane, Washington, in 2022. Since then, he has brought the show to audiences across Europe, Australia, and Latin America. The most recent leg included a second European tour, culminating in a pair of December performances in London that reunited him with Ringo Starr.
During that final show, Starr, who just turned 85 and is currently touring the U.S. himself, expressed heartfelt gratitude after leaving the stage: "I've had a great night, it’s been a great show." Together, the two Beatles performed electrifying renditions of "Helter Skelter" and "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band," delighting fans with a nostalgic journey to the golden era of the Fab Four. “I’m heading out now, I’ve had a great night and I love you all,” Starr said in parting.
Adding to the night’s historic feel was a surprise appearance by Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, who joined McCartney on stage for a rendition of the iconic song "Get Back." The performance marked another milestone: McCartney played his Hofner 500/1 bass guitar for the first time in over 50 years. The legendary instrument had been stolen in 1972 and was only recovered last year.
As anticipation builds, fans across Latin America are hopeful McCartney’s next announcement includes a return to their stages.
