Caracas, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday recalled the 140th anniversary of Cuba's National Hero Jose Marti's visit to the South American nation.

On Twitter, the Venezuelan president highlighted this date as 'the one that includes Jose Marti's commitment to Bolivarian ideas and thoughts. Cuba and Venezuela, two peoples united by a history of brotherhood and freedom.'

Historically speaking, this date has been celebrated in Venezuela for more than 10 years, with a wide ranging plan of activities that runs through January 28, Jose Marti's birth. The Casa Nuestra America, the Jose Marti Cultural Society, the mayor's offices of Caracas and Vargas, as well as the Cuba-Venezuela Solidarity Movement will carry out a set of activities this year in order to honor this date, Ines Luigi, Cuba-Venezuela Solidarity Movement's coordinator, told Prensa Latina.
