Havana, Dec 14 (RHC) Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega ratified on Wednesday in this capital the transcendence and firmness of the Cuban Revolution, respected and admired by the peoples of the world.

During his speech at the sixth extraordinary session of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament), he recalled the recent tour of the island's president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, through the countries of the region, an integration consolidated decades ago by leader Fidel Castro.

In the meeting, dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Ortega alluded to the founding moments of the regional bloc, promoted by Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez.

They are present in "our hearts and conscience" and give the strength to continuously confront US aggressions, he affirmed and pointed out the impact of the mechanism in the societies of the region and the construction of Simón Bolívar's integrationist dream.

According to the head of state, "it is time for the creation of a new world", where the principles of the United Nations Organization and the international demand for the cessation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by Washington on the island are complied with.

Ortega pointed out that, despite the almost unanimous vote in the UN in favor of the resolution presented by Havana against that genocidal policy, US imperialism is increasing its unilateral sanctions and warned that Cuba "is not alone in this battle".

In this sense, he recognized the heroism, conscience, resistance, courage, and enormous solidarity of the people of the Caribbean nation that "once again will win", and indicated the need to exert greater pressure in the world to break the U.S. hegemony. (Source: Prensa Latina).
