New York-based Center for Cuban Studies urged US President Joe Biden to withdraw Cuba from the US State Department list of states sponsors of terrorism.

“President Biden can, with a stroke of his pen, remove Cuba from the State Dept. “State Sponsors of Terrorism list and he must do so,” reads the call on the webpage of the center (http://centerforcubanstudies.org/).

This unilateral policy was part of the ignorant attempt by Trump to justify his hundreds of executive orders against Cuba, according to the Center.

Anyone who knows anything about Cuba knows that Cuba does not belong on this list, the Center notes and adds that putting Cuba on the list inflicts immeasurable damage on the Cuban average people, and it must stop.

The Center for Cuban Studies (CCS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt educational institution with a national membership base organized by a group of scholars, writers, artists and other professionals with a purpose to counter the effects of U.S. policy toward Cuba. Founded in 1972 and located in New York City, it is dedicated to providing information about contemporary Cuba and contributing to a normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States.
