Damascus, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) A new missile attack was perpetrated by the Israeli army against several positions located in Quneitra and Damascus countryside provinces, in southwestern Syria, the Ministry of Defense reported on Thursday.

The Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the occupied Syrian Golan and used air-to-ground and ground-to-ground missiles against some targets in the southern region, the Ministry informed in a statement broadcast on national television.

The inhabitants of the capital, Damascus, observed the response of the anti-air defense where several missiles were intercepted. The attack lasted 25 minutes, it was the first carried out in February and the fourth this year.

The Zionist attacks, according to national media, occur at a time when Syrian forces, supported by popular and allied units, launch an offensive in the Hama, Deir Ezzor and Raqa desert against the remnants of the terrorist organization Islamic State (Daesh, for its acronym in Arabic).

The government of Damascus condemned the UN silence facing these actions, which exceeded 50 in 2020, and affirmed that the United States and Israel directly support those terrorist groups, particularly Daesh, in order to destabilize again the areas that were liberated.
