More Cuban artists join the concerts online initiative, reaching out to their audiences amidst deadly pandemic

Cuban singer Rochy Ameneiros offered a concert online this past Monday, accompanied by her son, young talented pianist Rodrigo García.

It was broadcast on the frequencies of Canal Clave TVchannel, Radio Progreso, the Youtube channel of the Ministry of Culture and on a network of more than one hundred Facebook pages.

With the hashtags #EstamosContigo#MusicosPorCuba, the concerts online are an initiative launched jointly by the Cuban Music Institute, the Ministry of Culture and the Radio and television Institute, by which Cuban musicians are giving concerts from their homes, offering their art online in times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to information released by communications authorities with the Cuban Music Institute, the concerts online will continue this Tuesday, April 21st, with the group D´Cuba, followed by singer-songwriter Augusto Blanca, accompanied by actress Corina Mestre on Wednesday, April 22nd, singer-songwriter Jan Cruz on Thursday, April 23rd and rock group Zeus on Friday, April 24th.

Alexis Traina, communications director at the Ministry of Culture said that a total of 20 such concerts have been broadcast thus far, and 20 more have already been recorded and will be broadcast in the coming days and weeks.
