A mix of different musical generations characterized the performances on the second day of the Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival, which started in this Cuban province on Monday.

From young exponents of jazz such as The Heat Transfer band of Matanzas to the emblematic Compay Segundo group, Tuesday evening at Sauto Theater, a National Monument, became a space to enjoy talent in different musical genres.

Andy Ginoris, director of The Heat Transfer, said it is a great honor to participate in such an important event as the Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival, and share stage with top Cuban music bands.

Christian Alonso, son of Pachito Alonso, musician and director of Los Kini Kini orchestra, and his brother Rey Alonso showed their musical talent and stated that the main feeling they enjoy on stage is the respect for the audience.

Apart from The Heat Transfer band, the Compay Segundo group, and Pachito Alonso and Los Kini Kini orchestra with Christian and Rey, performances at Sauto Theater closed with musician Haila María Mompié.

Until August 27, Matanzas will be the epicenter of a festival that features excellent Cuban musicians who, along with international artists, will guarantee exceptional evenings to show Cuba’s ability to host events.
