Buenos Aires, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) Former soccer star Diego Armando Maradona underwent a swab on Monday to rule out whether he caught SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, after being in direct contact with a Covid-19 case.
According to several local press briefings, the coach of Gimnasia la Plata was tested after having had direct contact with the player Nicolas Contin, who tested positive for carrying the virus, after a friendly match against the San Lorenzo club, where he had hugged the player known as 'Pelusa.'
'Complying with protocols and for Maradona's and his family's peace of mind, the former soccer star was swabbed at noon at his home. The results will be in the next 24 hours,' tweeted Maradona's representative, Matias Morla, who accompanies his message with a photo of the former soccer player undergoing the test.
'El Pibe de Oro' (The Golden Boy) had sent a message of affection to Contin after learning that he tested positive for the virus. 'Dear tank, only you and your family know what you are going through. I think of you. Strength,' he cheered him up.
