Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his confidence in strengthening ties of friendship within the Global South during his tour around five countries, including Brazil for the Brics Summit.
Before leaving for Ghana, his first destination in a tour that includes Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia, the Indian head of government expressed his confidence that his trip will strengthen alliances on both sides of the Atlantic and deepen India’s commitments in multilateral platforms such as Brics, African Union, Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) and Caribbean Community (Caricom).
In Ghana, he will review with President John Mahama new ways to strengthen economic, energy and defense cooperation between the two countries.
Later, on July 3, the Indian head of government will go to Trinidad and Tobago to discuss with President Christine Carla Kangaloo and her counterpart Kamla Persad-Bissessar the strengthening of the relationship between the two countries.
As part of his two-day agenda there, Modi is expected to address a joint session of Parliament.
