Maduro: Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba are at the epicenter of the fight against fascism

President Nicolás Maduro said this Saturday during the closing of the World International Antifascist Festival "For a New World" that 80 years after the victory of the Red Army over Hitler's Nazism, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, together with Latin America, are at the epicenter of the struggle against fascism and against the recolonization effort.

Before the thousands of delegates who attended the meeting, from 125 countries, the Bolivarian leader said: "We are victorious and getting stronger."  He reflected that social movements around the world "have great constructive tasks for the future, including fiercely resisting the aggressions and threats of imperialism and its diplomacy of deception and stick. Unmask them and defeat them," he said.

He considered that the 77 chapters at the global level that already exist of the Antifascist International must advance in the formation of a great world anti-fascist alliance for peace, democracy and the development of peoples.

"We must articulate new forces and capacities for mobilization in all towns and cities, building social movements of great impact and articulating political forces to fight for power and peacefully defeat fascism," he said.

He urged that the bases of Chavismo, the communal forces and the military and police forces conceive initiatives to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Hitler's fascism.

"We will celebrate in Venezuela the taking of Berlin and the placement of the Soviet flag on the Reichstag," he said, and assured that studying the past allows us to understand the present.

The Venezuelan president rejected that neo-fascists have a monopoly on social networks. He analyzed that although they present themselves with a different face, they propose the reconquest of the world and try to divide and eliminate the left.

Nicolas Maduro valued the importance of having the capacity to react to all kinds of aggressions and the scenario of a resurgence of Nazism, including fighting the battle through armed struggle and winning it.
