President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the transcendence of the health collaboration project with Cuba, which can be seen today in the achievements of preventive medicine in Venezuela.
Nineteen years after creating the Barrio Adentro Mission program, the President recalled that this initiative, proposed and implemented by Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, was one of the essential pillars in the battle against Covid-19 in the country.
Practically one year after the popular victory of April 13 and 14, 2002, against the oligarchy's coup, they founded the Mission to send doctors to the people's houses and to bring, for the first time in history, public, family, preventive medicine, stressed the Head of State.
"Nineteen years have passed, and it seems like yesterday that the army of white coats from our sister Cuba arrived to fill Venezuela's neighborhoods and fields. Then, as time went by, the Cuban Revolution helped us forge Venezuelan doctors.
Maduro announced that despite the U.S. criminal economic persecution, Venezuela has enough booster doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines, thanks to the allies of the world.
"The blockade, the cruel and criminal persecution against Venezuela against the people's right to health and life, will not stop us. We will always come out ahead," the Venezuelan President stressed.
