New Delhi, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) India's Meteorological Department reported that 2020 was the eighth warmest year in the country since 1901.
After issuing a statement on the state of the weather in this South Asian nation in 2020, Indian meteorologists also indicated that 12 of the 15 warmest years were in the past 15 years, from 2006 to 2020. The last decade was also the warmest one registered in India.
Meanwhile, rainfalls across the country during the monsoon season in the southwest were above the normal levels.
On the other hand, last year, five hurricanes formed in the north of the Indian Ocean: Amphan superstorm, the very severe Nivar and Gati, and two others that were less strong, Nisarga and Burevi.
