The presence of the first edition in Guatemala of the book "La Edad de Oro" (The Golden Age), a book that Cuban National Hero Jose Marti wrote for children, adds to the tradition of children's literature in this country, Cuban researcher Mauricio Nuñez acknowledged.

Frida Morales, a professor at the University of San Carlos, has included in the volume “Han De Estar y Estaran” a wide range of significant voices that have accompanied several generations of Guatemalans, Nuñez, who is also a Cuban critic and journalist, said.

Morales has reconstructed the history of this national artistic expression, covering several elements of popular oral transmission of cultural imaginaries from its genesis, Nuñez added.

Concerning the publication of “La Edad de Oro” in this capital, he congratulated the workers of Editorial Cultura, attached to the Ministry of Culture and Sports for such a beautiful and well-made work.

He pointed out that this is the third title that the two countries have jointly prepared about the Cuban national hero’s work. He recalled that they had previously promoted “Lucia Jerez,” the only novel that Marti wrote.
