Tokyo, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Japanese academic Yasuhiro Tokoro formally nominated on Tuesday Cuba's Henry Reeve medical brigade for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, after its solidarity trajectory with the world was highlighted.

The Meiji University professor presented his proposal through the online platform of the Norwegian Nobel Committee and supported it with a reference to the humanitarian work done by the health contingent since its foundation in 2005, the Cuban Embassy in Japan informed.

Professor Tokoro has a PhD in International Trade and serves as Director of the Japan Society of International Economics.

Tokoro thus joined hundreds of personalities globally who are asking so that the international recognition is granted to the medical brigade, whose members have saved more than 90,000 lives in dozens of countries since its foundation at the initiative of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
