The Israeli military continued its attacks today against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, amid international and Palestinian group condemnations, which called on the world to stop the wave of violence.
Military Operations in Gaza
The broadcaster Al Jazeera reported that this morning the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) bombarded the city of Rafah, in the south of the coastal enclave, and demolished numerous homes in the eastern area. Furthermore, attempts were reported by armored vehicles and helicopters against the city of Khan Yunis. Warplanes fired missiles at the northern city of Beit Lahia, which was also the target of artillery attacks.
According to the Gaza Government Press Office, since the truce in the territory began on October 10, the IDF has killed more than 340 Palestinians and wounded another 875.
Amid this situation, the spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Hazem Qassem, denounced the Israeli massacres and called on mediating countries to stop the military campaign.
Raids in the West Bank
This morning, the IDF also launched raids in the occupied West Bank, where tensions continue to rise. Soldiers stormed the town of Silat al-Harithiya, in the northern part of the territory. The official Palestinian news agency highlighted that three citizens were arrested by the troops, who raided numerous homes as part of the operation. Another four were detained in the suburb of Iktaba, located in the city of Tulkarm.
