China's Tumei International Travel on Tuesday announced the opening of a Cuba Promotion Center in this country to promote cultural, gastronomic, tourist, and economic exchanges.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Tumei International Travel’s General Manager Elena Chen excelled Cuba’s attractions for Chinese citizens and the advantages of having a promotional center in this southwestern city, the capital of Zhejiang province.

“We already operated a similar agency in Beijing, which has become a fashionable place where city dwellers can learn about Cuba’s culture, taste its gastronomy, and smoke cigars accompanied by Cuban rum; we also organize tourist events and create commercial opportunities,” she said.

According to Chen, the successful experience of this place in Beijing led to the establishment of new alliances with the local government of Hangzhou in search of a similar site here.

The Tumei general manager highlighted that this city hosted the Group of 20 (G-20) Summit in 2016 and is getting ready for the Asian Games this month, making it a priority location to hold international events and fairs.

Tumei recently confirmed to Prensa Latina the launch of the Cuba Tourist Card on JD.com.

Cuba participated as a guest of honor at the International Day celebrations in Hangzhou.
