Heavy rains affecting western Cuba

The Cuban Institute of Meteorology (Insmed) reported the redominance of clouds in the western region and the central north coast with some rains since the early hours of the morning.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy and the afternoon will be cloudy in much of the country, with showers, rains and thunderstorms that will extend to the evening, the forecast adds. Maximum temperatures will be between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius in the western half, up to 34 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country, while at night temperatures will be between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius.

ISMED also details that temperatures will be lower in inland locations and winds will be northeast in the west and center, with speeds between 15 and 30 kilometers per hour, up to 35 in areas of the north coast with higher winds.

In the rest of the country, there will be variable and weak winds.

The weather forecast warns that there will be tides on the northwest coast with slight water accumulations in low-lying areas, including the Havana Seawall. Surf to the south of Isle of Youth and little surf to the rest of the coasts.
