France condemned Cuba's inclusion in the list of sponsors of terrorism

Paris, Mar 4 (RHC) The France Cuba association today repudiated the inclusion of the island on the unilateral U.S. list of countries sponsoring terrorism, a decision it described as a fallacy.
The organization with more than six decades of solidarity work with Cuba, one of the oldest of its kind in Europe and the world, mentioned how U.S. President Joseph Biden, who in his election campaign promised to reverse the hostile actions of his predecessor, Donald Trump, towards the Antillean nation has failed to honor his word.
A few days before leaving the White House, in January 2021, Trump ordered to place the island on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, which it had left during the Havana-Washington rapprochement under the administration of Barack Obama.
France Cuba denounced the lack of grounds for keeping the Island on the list and the absence of U.S. morals to point the finger at others.
This is a recurrent practice of U.S. imperialism, the same that unleashes wars, promotes coups d'état, and tramples on the rights of peoples and fundamental human rights, it warned.
Likewise, the association rejected the impact of the inclusion in the list, by tightening the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years.
In its statement, France Cuba reiterated the island's right to choose its model of economic and social development without foreign interference. (Source: PL)
