Paris, March 23 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver arrived in France Wednesday to participate in political inter-foreign ministerial consultations, in which they will discuss the progress of their bilateral ties and cooperation projects.
The meeting is scheduled for the headquarters of the host Foreign Ministry on the Quai d'Orsay, co-chaired by Peñalver and François Delattre, Secretary-General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The two parties will assess the political dialogue and bilateral relations during the official talks and evaluate cooperation economic ties, said the Cuban delegation.
Paris and Havana will also exchange views on current multilateral and regional agenda issues.
The deputy minister will first meet with other representatives of the French government and with parliamentarians of the National Assembly and the Senate.
His plan also includes meetings with members of the solidarity movement with the Caribbean nation and Cubans living in France.
Peñalver arrived in Paris from Geneva, where he fulfilled an extensive program, with activities such as the installation of Cuba's presidency in the Conference on Disarmament, a forum in which he advocated peace and the total elimination of nuclear weapons.
