The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced Thursday on its website Ambassador Rodolfo Reyes' unexpected death. He was 56.

"We regret to inform you of the sudden death of Ambassador Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez, General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of MINREX, who had been suffering from health conditions." said the Ministry.

He graduated from the "Raúl Roa García" Higher Institute of International Relations. He went to the People's Republic of Angola as an officer of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and served in various and outstanding diplomatic missions as Ambassador Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva and to the United Nations in New York; and as Specialist, Director and General Director in the Ministry.

His example will continue to guide the work of the MINREX workers' collective, concluded the Foreign Ministry's note.
