European, US officials address Israeli aggression against Palestine

Brussels, May 18 (Prensa Latina) Josep Borrell, head of European diplomacy, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday discussed possible measures to reduce the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
After the Zionist aviation killed more than 200 people in the Gaza Strip, among them some 50 children, the two officials exchanged on ways to put an end to violence and reduce tensions, a European Union communique stated.
Last week, Israel attacked the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and one of three holiest sites in Islam, and later expelled Palestinians from the district of Sheikh Jarrah to place Israeli settlers there, the press recalls.
According to Borrell, long-term initiatives are necessary, in reference to the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and in Gaza, attacked by the Zionist aviation since May 10.
More than 6,000 Palestinians have been wounded in a situation that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described on Monday as horrible.
Erdogan called the UN Security Council to act to put an end to that aggression.
