Pyongyang, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) The deputy head of department at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yo Jong, on Tuesday criticized military drills in South Korea and told the US that they are not helping ensuring peace.

'War drills and hostility can never go with dialogue and cooperation,' she noted.

According to South Korean authorities, these are usual and defensive drills, in this case computarized to prevent contagion with Covid-19, but the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) does not think the same way.

'It is a childish and cynical lie to get a flexible judgment and understanding from us,' Kim pointed out.

The official added that they have rejected conducting joint military drills so far and never questioned their scope or form.

In this regard, she recalled that even after promising the end of military drills, South Korean authorities carried them out surreptitiously more than 110 times in 2018, over 190 times in 2019 and more than 170 times in 2020.

'War drills are incompatible with dialogue and hostility with cooperation,' she added and warned that they jeopardize the regulations of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Homeland.
