Diaz-Canel meets with assemblers at Ciclos Minerva in Villa Clara

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel began his tour here on Friday as a parliamentary candidate, with an open meeting with assemblers from the Angel Villareal Industrial Company, also known as Ciclos Minerva.

The Cuban president, who was accompanied by seven other candidates to the National People’s Power Assembly, was interested in the productive results of this industry, which makes mechanical and electrical bicycles, motorcycles, and tricycles.

The factory, the only one of its kind in the nation, also manufactures wheelchairs, and is engaging in the assembly of cargo tricycles, several prototypes of which are exhibited in the factory.

The wheelchairs are intended for the healthcare sector and people with disabilities, and work has also been done on the conformation of galvanized doors for the housing program, the manufacture of metal shelves and the construction of cribs for newborns at the Santa Clara Maternity Hospital.
