Cuban freestyle gladiator Yusneylis Guzman (50 kg) will fight today against the American Sarah Ann Hildebrandt, third in Tokyo 2020, for the gold medal of the 2024 Olympic Games.
As announced by the organizing committee, Guzman will take the place of India's Vinesh Vinesh, who was declared overweight and eliminated from the competition.
The Cuban—2023 Pan American champion—had made it to the semifinals on Tuesday after beating the Turkish Evin Demirhan and the Lithuanian Gabija Dilyte, but then lost 0-5 precisely to Vinesh.
