Havana, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Monday highlighted the women's beach volleyball team's qualification for the Tokyo Olympic Games, scheduled for July 23 to August 8.

On his Twitter account, the president stressed that the Cuban pairs won the Olympic ticket after finishing undefeated in the finals of the Norceca Continental Pre-Olympic (North, Central America and the Caribbean), which concluded on Sunday in Colima, Mexico.

On Sunday, Cuban players Lidianny Echevarria-Yanileydis Sanchez and Leila Martinez-Maylen Delis defeated their Mexican counterparts, Martha Revuelta-Zaira Orellana and Susana Torres-Maria Jose Quintero, respectively

As only two volleyball female players could attend the Olympic Games, the Federation of that sport informed that they will be chosen by the technical group and the National Commission.

With the women's beach volleyball quota, Cuba adds 69 tickets in 14 sports for the Tokyo Olympic Games, where it aspires to win three or more titles to be among the best 20 countries in the competition.
