Cuban president congratulates his Chinese counterpart on reelection

Havana, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday congratulated his counterpart from the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on his reelection as president of that sister nation.

On his Twitter account, the head of State pointed out that Xi’s ratification is an expression of the people’s confidence in his valuable contributions to the cause of socialism, and “we are honored to have his close friendship and that of the Chinese people, party and government,” Diaz-Canel added.

The Chinese National People’s Congress unanimously reelected Xi for a third term, on a day when he also appointed other senior state officials.

All nearly 3,000 lawmakers at the annual session of the legislative body ratified President Xi at the head of the Central Military Commission. jg/mgt/mpp
