Earlier, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted his country's commitment to sustainable development, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
In another tweet, Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled a phrase from the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who pointed out that in present humanity there is, (...), a great destruction of natural resources.
'... It is still not solved yet how humanity is going to find out substitute sources of that energy, and oil is being destroyed today as the forests were destroyed before,' added Fidel Castro.
Meanwhile, in several e-publications in Cuba, the revolutionary leader's speech at Rio de Janeiro Environment Summit in June 1992 was recalled, when he spoke out that human beings were in risk of disappearing.
