Hypocrisy and double standards of the current U.S. administration is no surprise to anyone, but they do insult. It insults the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism made (as if they had the morals and credentials to do it) by the State Department.

Clearly it’s a cynical act, a political trick, a sample (one more) of the crude opportunism of an internationally discredited government, a few days before one of the most shameful presidential terms of that country ends.

It’s a matter, as the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Cuba has denounced, of imposing additional obstacles to any prospect of recovery in bilateral relations between Cuba and the United States.

Relevant personalities within the U.S. Congress have acknowledged that several times, several senators who sent a letter to Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, in which they expressed their concern that the process for the appointment was carried out without formal consultation.

But beyond any legal technicality, the mere inclusion is already nonsense.

Cuba shouldn’t have returned to that list. Cuba should have never been there.

Moreover, such a list should not exist, since its raison d'être is to justify economic measures against governments that don’t agree with the interests of the United States.

Far from promoting terrorism, Cuba has suffered and fought it. And many of the terrorist acts that Cuba has faced have been schemed precisely in the territory of the United States, or by people who have had the more or less explicit support or protection of U.S. authorities.

The justifications used by the State Department are ridiculous and ignore Cuba's active obligation to conflict resolution (internationally recognized) and its express opposition to terrorism in any of its variants, regardless of who it is, assumed by anyone.

Cuba does not promote terrorism. Cuba promotes peace, solidarity, international collaboration.

It’s paradoxical that a country that has sent medical personnel to dozens of nations worldwide, without geopolitical or propaganda interests, is included in such false list.

This international collaboration, the fruit of the humanism of the Revolution and of the Cuban people, did not cease even under the current difficult circumstances, given the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.

The gratitude of citizens and authorities of many countries vouch for that: Cuba fights for life. And it’s a work of years, in which tens of thousands of Cubans have participated. Millions of people in the world have benefited from this contribution.

All this effort carried out by a poor country, blocked by the main power in the world.

Once again, the United States government is alone in its attempt of attacking Cuba. The inclusion in that list is ridiculous. It's embarrassing.

Cuba holds arguments and morals to spare to face such infamy.
