Buenos Aires, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuba has reaffirmed its willingness to make headway to building a socialist, prosperous and sustainable society, Cuban Deputy Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Deborah Rivas said in Argentina on Tuesday.
During the 39th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Ms. Rivas spoke at the High-Level Seminar on Investment and Sectoral Strategies expressing her country is presently working to roll out the UN 2030 Agenda.
Rivas also said that Cuba is carrying out the necessary actions to improve financing for development in a complex international scenario.
We are making considerable efforts to improve foreign direct investment flows, she stressed.
The major obstacle is the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government on Cuba for more than 60 years, she stated.
Moreover, she condemned the tightening of the U.S. blockade amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and also its extraterritorial nature under the Helms-Burton Act.
