Cuba readies military ceremony for 65th Anniversary of the revolution

Cuba is preparing today its traditional military ceremony for the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution to be held on December 31, which will include the firing of 21 artillery salvos, military sources announced.

A press release from the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (Minfar) said that the firing will take place at 00:00 local time on Sunday from the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress in Havana.

On the occasion of that ceremony, there will be similar practices and detonations on Wednesday night that will be perceptible in different areas of Havana, Minfar added.

As usual, the capital’s population will be able to attend the ceremony to celebrate the new anniversary of the Revolution, on January 1, 2024. For the occasion, the gates of the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress will open at 11:00 p.m. local time, said the publication.
