Cuba hails celebration of National Popular Consultation in Venezuela

The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, expressed congratulations to the people and government of Venezuela for the celebration of the National Popular Consultation, an activity he described as successful.

In X social media, Morales pointed out that the Consultation, held on Sunday, is an example of democracy, participation and commitment in carrying out social projects President Nicolás Maduro is pushing ahead.

Venezuelans participated in the first process of this type last April, in which the people defined by means of suffrage their priorities in areas such as health, sports and services.

On this occasion, the National Popular Consultation took place in the more than 4,500 communal districts or communes throughout Venezuela, where a project will be chosen among seven proposals put forward by communal councils.

The approved initiatives will be financed by the Government and executed by the population itself.
