Havana, Feb 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban authorities announced on Wednesday the confiscation of several vessels found in the country's aquatic areas.

The Directorate of Border Guard Troops (TGF) of the Ministry of the Interior reported having seized three speedboats with outboard motors found in coastal areas of the provinces of Villa Clara (central), Holguin (east) and Mayabeque (west).

The TGF also informed the confiscation of a Yola type boat, without identification labels or engine, found in September 2020 in the municipality of Quemado de Güines, also in Villa Clara.

Those affected will be able to claim their rights in writing, to the head of the Border Guard Troops Directorate, within 20 calendar days as of today, according to an official press release issued by Granma newspaper.

Two days ago, TFR forces captured a speedboat with about one ton of marijuana and three Bahamian crew members north of Maisi, in the eastern province of Guantanamo.

According to the source, the boat was part of an international drug trafficking operation through the Windward Passage to Bahamas, with 77 containers, which had inside 445 packages of marijuana, with a net weight of 985 kilograms.
