Cuba Confirms Twenty New Positive Cases for Covid-19

The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Duran, reported that at the close of this Wednesday, 20 positive cases were confirmed to COVID-19 for a cumulative of 1,830 people and no deaths, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
At midnight yesterday, May 13th, a thousand 46 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 2,794 people are monitored in their homes, from the Primary Health Care.
For COVID-19, two thousand 013 samples were studied, resulting in 20 positive samples. The country accumulates 75,142 samples made and 1,830 positive (2.4%).
The 20 new confirmed cases were Cuban. Of these, 19 (95.0%) were contacts of confirmed cases and in one (5.0%) the source of infection was not specified.
Of the 20 diagnosed cases, five (25.0%) were men and 15 (75.0%) women. The most affected age groups were the younger than 40 years old with 11 (55.0%) and 40 to 60 years old with 9 (45.0%). 85.0% (17) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
The residence by provinces and municipalities of the 20 confirmed cases is:
• Havana: 10 cases (3 from San Miguel del Padrón; Centro Habana and Arroyo Naranjo with 2 each, Playa, Boyeros and La Lisa with 1 each)
• Matanzas: 10 cases (7 from the municipality of Matanzas; Limonar, Jovellanos and Los Arabos with 1 each)
Of the 1,830 patients diagnosed with the disease, 366 remain admitted and 357 (97.5%) of them have stable clinical evolution. There are 79 deaths (none on the day), two evacuees and 1,383 recovered patients (75.6%) (57 discharges were given yesterday). Three critically ill patients and six severely ill patients are reported.
As of May 13, 184 countries are reported with COVID-19 cases, 4 million 223 thousand 047 confirmed cases (+ 85 thousand 854) and 291 thousand 519 deaths (+ 5 thousand 759) with a lethality of 6.90% (- 0.01).
In the region of the Americas, one million 845 thousand 638 confirmed cases are reported (+ 42 thousand 265), 43.70% of the total cases reported in the world, with 110 thousand 714 deaths (+ 3 thousand 464) and fatality of 6.00% (+0.05).
