Cuba is one of the most sought-after destinations for those planning their Caribbean vacation in the first quarter of 2021, according to statistics from the Forwardkeys travel analysis website.

Cuba dominates research among potential Canadian and Spanish tourists, according to data based on the Skyscanner flight search engine.

In addition, the Caribbean island is one of the top five destinations in the region among potential visitors from the United Kingdom, France and even the United States, whose president, Donald Trump, imposed travel restrictions on the island.

The news website Caribbean News Digital believes that the possible arrival at the White House of Democrat Joe Biden, who leads the polls for the upcoming November 3rd presidential elections, has spurred searches for Cuba as a likely travel destination for 2021.

Under strict sanitary protocols to avoid the contagion of COVID-19, the island opened the Jardines del Rey destination to international visitors in July.

As of October 15, the Varadero beach resort -- which has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world according to tourists -- will also begin to receive travelers from other nations.

As part of the measures to confront the pandemic, hotel facilities in Cuba were certified with the condition of Most Hygienic and Safe Tourism, to receive foreign travelers.

In the last few weeks, hundreds of Canadians have arrived in Cuba's northern keys by way of Air Canada, a airline company that will continue its trips to the Jardines del Rey airport in Cayo Coco once a week from Montreal, and at the end of the month it will add flights from Toronto.

In addition, the Canadian airline OWG will start its flights to tourist destinations in November, while the German Condor will begin flights on October 31st to Varadero, as announced by tour operators.
