Cuban leader Raúl Castro calls to solve problems with unity

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, on Wednesday called on the lawmakers of the National People's Power Assembly (Parliament) to solve problems with unity.    

“With our fists raised we will solve the problems together,” said the Cuban leader when he briefly took the floor at the 4th Ordinary Session of Parliament, after listening to debates on core issues.

The parliamentarians called on people to maintain the country’s defense and increase the fight against crime, corruption and trafficking of illicit substances, during the analysis of the fulfillment of the Government’s projections implemented a year ago to correct distortions and boost the economy.

The 4th Ordinary Session of Parliament, in its 10th Legislature, will meet until December 20, after two days of debates in permanent commissions.

The National People’s Power Assembly is the supreme body of State power, it represents and expresses the sovereign will of the people and is the only one with constituent and legislative power in the Republic.
