China urges deepening friendship with Vietnam

Chinese President Xi Jinping urged his Vietnamese counterpart, To Lam, in this capital on Monday to defend and boost the traditional friendship between both countries and promote the development of socialism globally.
During the official talks held at the Great Hall of the People in this capital, Xi also called for deepening the construction of a community with a shared China-Vietnam future of strategic importance.
The president praised the current state of bilateral ties and mentioned that China was the first foreign country that To Lam visited after he was appointed as a general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
The head of State also pointed out the history of exchanges between the two nations, common ideals, and beliefs, and the deep bilateral friendship of comrades and brothers dating back to the revolutionary activities that Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh conducted 100 years ago.
President To Lam, in turn, stressed that the CPV and the State “have always attached great importance to the relations with China, and considered them a strategic option having highest priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy.”
Xinhua informed that the Vietnamese top leader showed his willingness to further deepening and improving the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.
