Brazil’s Electoral Justice formalizes Lula’s victory at polls

Brasilia, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) The Electoral Justice will validate on Monday the victory at the polls of President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the candidate nominated by most Brazilians, in the October 30 th runoff .

Along with Vice-President-elect Geraldo Alckmin, the founder of the Workers’ Party (PT) will graduate (certify victory in the referendum) at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), in Brasilia, in a crowded event.

UOL portal indicated that 280 guests, including former Presidents Dilma Rousseff and José Sarney, confirmed their presence at the event.

The ministers of the TSE and the Federal Supreme Court, parliamentarians, governors, and future members of Lula’s Executive should be present in the ceremony, which is expected to last over an hour.

Lula will be the first to give a speech, followed by TSE’s President, Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

During this formality, which marks the end of the election process, Lula and Alckmin will receive their respective diplomas signed by De Moraes.
