Boxers from Cuba and France will hold a friendly match on April 5 in the coastal resort of Varadero, as part of a training base for the French team in the Caribbean island, official sources confirmed on Monday.

The fights will take place at the Brisas del Caribe hotel, and among the visitors are Sofiane Oumiha, Olympic runner-up and three-time world champion in the 63.5 kilograms; and world medalist Billal Bennama (51 kg).

Oumiha will repeat the final of the last global competition against Cuba’s Erislandy Alvarez, while Bennama will compete against Alejandro Claro, third in his weight at the same level.

World silver medalist Saidel Horta (57) will fight against Lounes Hanraou, and Jorge Cuéllar (71) will compete against European bronze medalist Makan Traeré.

The most prominent figures in the Cuban team, two-time summer champions Arlen López (80) and Julio César La Cruz (92), will climb the ring against César Yorelin and Soheb Bouafia, respectively.

Finally, Fernando Arbola (over 92) will have Djamili Aboudou as his opponent.
