Their art show is dedicated to children and young people. Over 20 visual artists promote the so-called “primitivist art” in the city of Camagüey, and they all are members of a project called Isabel de las Mercedes, through which they exchange experiences and good practices with neighbors living in communities throughout this Cuban province.

Carmela Silvera Guerra, daughter of the above-mentioned artist, told that the inspiration of her mother can be seen in several places in town, including schools, workplaces and houses. Besides she said that age is not an impediment so that men and women can bring to light their talent expressed in naïve art.

Sponsored by the Community Culture Centers system in Camagüey and the ACCS, the art exhibit will be on display for the whole week, from 8:00 am to 12:00, at the head office of this organization, located on Maceo Street, one of the most populous roads in the historical center of this city, inscribed on the World Heritage List since 2008.
