Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hitoshi Kikawada, will arrive today in Cuba to pay an official visit, during which he will meet with authorities of the Cuban Foreign Ministry. According to Cuban Foreign Ministry's website, Kikawada will meet with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra, as part of the different activities he will develop in the country.

Kikawada's visit follows the visit made to Japan by Cuban First Vice-president Miguel Diaz-Canel several weeks ago, who said that relations between the two countries are in excellent condition.

Cuba and Japan established diplomatic ties on December 21, 1929, and according to Cuban Foreign Ministry, those ties have been straightened in recent years.
