Representatives of Cuba and the United States held talks in Washington on hydrography and nautical charts, reads a press release from the island's embassy to the U.S. capital.
The meeting took place from December 15 to December 17, which gave continuity to the technical discussions on the bilateral exchange in progress since February this year.
The parties discussed the work of the entities responsible for this activity in both countries, the status of hydrographic survey and cartography.
According to the note released today by the Cuban legation to that nation, attendees also reaffirmed the importance of promoting the exchange of hydrographic information related to international charts and developing the production of nautical charts.
The Cuban delegation was headed by Colonel Candido Gomez, head of the National Office of Hydrography and Geodesy (ONHG), and the U.S. delegation by Admiral Gerd F. Glang, Director for Coastal Survey Services of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA) and Chief of Hydrography.
