Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, received Doctor Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, President of the African Union Commission, who is on an official visit to Cuba.
In the fraternal meeting, held on Friday afternoon, they spoke about the bonds of friendship, cooperation and solidarity existing between Cuba and the African nations. In particular, they highlighted the active participation of Cuban health professionals in the struggle against the Ebola epidemic in countries of that continent. In addition, they spoke about other topics on the international agenda.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor was Mustapha Sidiki Kaloko, commissioner for Social Affairs of the African Union Commission.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Salvador Valdes, Vice-president of the Council of State; and Marcelino Medina, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
