Cuban Foreign Minister Stresses EU Rejection to US Blockade

Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno stated today here that the European Union (EU)''s stance regarding his country evolves positively and stressed the rejection of that mechanism to the U.S. blockade on the island. The stance the EU has assumed regarding the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States is of particular interest for us, Moreno said in a news conference.
Brussels is not limited to reject the extraterritorial coercive measures, but call to end that policy entirety.
The Cuban deputy foreign minister said he expects that the European stance regarding to the siege against his country is expressed in the summit to be held this week between the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and EU.
Moreno recalled that after the summit, the fourth round of negotiations on the EU-Cuba Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement will be run in the Belgian capital on June 15-16.
We have the hope to end the referred chapter to cooperation in this round, and enter a deeper negotiation of issues related to trade and political dialogue, he said.
