Cuban President Regrets Death of Uruguayan Intellectual

The president Raul Castro expressed his condolences over the death of the Uruguayan writer and journalist Eduardo Galeano, whom he described as a prominent revolutionary intellectual and beloved friend of Cuba.

Condolences from the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba were sent last night in a message to President of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez.

"With deep regret I have known the death of the prominent revolutionary intellectual and beloved friend of Cuba, Eduardo Galeano. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the unforgettable Galeano and the Uruguayan people whom so worthily he represented ', the Cuban president expressed in his message.
