Diaz-Canel Meets with Venezuelan Leaders

Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Politburo of the Cuban Communist Party and First Vice-president (VP) of the councils of State and Ministers, held bilateral meetings with top Venezuelan officials in Caracas on Friday.
The Cuban VP spoke with Diosdado Cabello, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, who explained details of the legislative process the country will experience this year.
He was also received by Ricardo Menendez, Vice-president for Planning and Knowledge, with whom he spoke about the current situation of the South American country and the fraternity existing between the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela.
In both meetings Diaz-Canel ratified the unconditional support of the Cuban people and government for the constitutional government of Nicolas Maduro and his people, and Cuba's condemnation of the threats and attempts of a coup d'etat of the last few weeks.
In the afternoon, the Cuban VP participated in the Extraordinary Summit of Petrocaribe.
