At the 41st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Cuba defends international solidarity among nations, said Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Wednesday.

In a message on Twitter, the Cuban Foreign Minister criticized the actions of the U.S. government that seek to denigrate Cuban cooperation programs with other nations.

'While the United States pretends to discredit Cuban cooperation programs with sister nations, #Cuba continues to defend, in the 41st session of the Council on #Human Rights, international solidarity among people,' Rodriguez wrote in @BrunoRguezP.

President Donald Trump's administration has repeatedly attacked Cuban aid workers who help other nations such as Venezuela, while criticizing the quality of the island's professionals and calling them slaves, a term also used by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro when he cancelled the More Doctors program.

In late June, the Cuban collaborator of internationalist missions, Dr. Enmanuel Vigil, in an interview with the BBC, denied the accusation of 'slavery' to which the Cuban doctors have been subjected.

In this sense, Vigil stressed that all internationalist missions in Cuba are voluntary: 'They are agreements between governments, so each collaborator knows that he receives a part of the monetary gain and the rest enters the National Health System,' he said.

For years, Cuba has collaborated with various nations of the world in sectors such as health, education and culture, among other areas, attesting to its humanist and supportive vocation.

Currently, some 30,000 health workers work in 67 countries.
