Havana, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) Delegates from about 15 countries are attending from Wednesday to Friday, October 19, in Havana the 8th International Congress, Abogacia 2018, sponsored by the National Organization of Collective Law Offices (ONBC) of Cuba.

A keynote speech by Council of State Secretary Homero Acosta about the creation of a new Cuban Constitution stands out in today's agenda.

According to the president of ONBC and the organizing committee, Ariel Mantecon, business advisors, around 100 foreign delegates (preliminary figure) and ONBC lawyers, whose papers compete at previous levels until reaching the congress, are attending the event.

Among the issues to be discussed and analyzed are those related to foreign investment in Cuba, international economic and trade relations, and constitutional issues, although the meeting provides spaces for conflicts in all branches of law, he said.

The papers of the present edition of Abogacia 2018 were organized in six working commissions: Conflicts of civil, family and administrative law; Criminal and criminological conflicts; Economic, commercial and financial conflicts; Law, legal thinking and ethical and professional projection; Conflicts of the right to work; and Conflicts of agrarian and environmental law.

According to Elizabeth Moya, technical coordinator of the congress, the event includes presentations of books, multimedia and collateral activities such as visits to a penitentiary center, an oral trial and and an exchange between Colombian students and young people from the Department at the University of Havana.
